Manila Water announces desludging schedule for the month of November

East Zone concessionaire Manila Water announces its desludging schedule for the month of November as it encouraged its customers to avail of the services to prevent clogging and overflowing of their septic vaults as well as to help reduce untreated wastewater in waterways, creeks and rivers.

Residents of Brgy. Darangan in Binangonan; Brgys. San Isidro, Dela Paz and Dalig in Antipolo; Brgys. Calumpang, San Roque, Sta. Elena, Sto Nino, Fortune and Nangka in Marikina City; Brgys. Culiat, Paligsahan, Matandang Balara, Marilag, Mangga, Kaunlaran, Valencia and Immaculate Concepcion in Quezon City; Brgys. Carmona, Poblacion, Santa Cruz and Tejeros in Makati City; Brgys. Addition Hills (Welfareville Compound), Buwayang Bato, Hulo, and Plainview in Mandaluyong City; Tibagan in San Juan City; Brgys. 766, 770, 772, 780, 782, 783, 792, 793, 866, 869, 873, 874, 875, 876, 894, 896, 897, 898, 899, 903, 904 and 905 in Manila are part of Manila Water’s desludging schedule this month.

Customers are encouraged to coordinate with their respective barangays for the specific schedules to avail of the desludging services.

Manila Water Corporate Communication Affairs Group Head Jeric Sevilla, Jr. said the desludging services will not entail any additional charge on the part of the customers. “This is already covered by the customers’ monthly bill, as long as they avail of the service within the month their barangay is scheduled for desludging,” Sevilla added. Sevilla further explained that it is important to do septic tank siphoning every five years to ensure that the wastewater collected from septic tanks will undergo proper treatment through the company’s septage treatment facilities before they are discharged back to bodies of water.

Sevilla also added to verify the desludging schedule of your barangay by calling the Manila Water Consumer Desk Hotline 1627.

Prior to the desludging schedule, Manila Water’s team will also be conducting a census or survey of each location to keep track of the residents’ desludging cycle.

To be more efficient, Manila Water also reminds the customers to ensure that their septic tanks are already uncovered on the actual day of desludging to help expedite the siphoning process.

Manila Water is the concessionaire of the East Zone of the Metropolitan Waterworks Sewerage System that provides water and wastewater services to more than seven million residents in eastern Metro Manila and Rizal Province.#
