SHABU, DRUG PARAPHERNALIA SEIZED DURING ANTI-DRUG OPERATION IN CAGAYAN; PUSHER ARRESTED

Methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, and paraphernalia were confiscated by elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during a buy-bust operation in Tuao, Cagayan on November 5, 2015. The operation also resulted in the arrest of the suspected drug pusher.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that operatives of PDEA Regional Office 2 (PDEA RO2) under Director Derrick Arnold C. Carreon conducted a buy-bust operation in Purok 1, Brgy. Bulagao, Tuao, Cagayan which led to the arrest of Rene Chavente y Mamba, alias Totoy, 28 years old, and a resident of Purok 1, Balagao, Tuao, Cagayan.

Confiscated during the operation were three pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing two grams with an estimated value of P6,000, assorted drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust money.

Cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 12 (Possession of Equipment and Other Paraphernalia for Dangerous Drugs), Article II of RA 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are now filed in court against Chavente.

On November 4, 2015, at around 5:00 in the afternoon, elements of PDEA Regional Office-National Capital Region (PDEA RO-NCR) under Director Erwin S. Ogario implemented a warrant of arrest against Emerito Santos y Reyes, 61, and a resident of No. 19, Banuyo Street, Brgy. Amihan, Project 3, Quezon City which resulted in his arrest.

Santos has a pending case in violation of Sections 15 and 16, of RA 6425, as repealed, now known as RA 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, for violation of Section 15 (Use of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 16 (Cultivation of Dangerous Drugs).
