PDEA MEETS 13 ACCREDITED PARTNER NGOs

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted an orientation meeting with 13 PDEA accredited Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s) and cited their role as force multipliers in the successful implementation of the national campaign against illicit drugs.

During the meeting held on August 11, 2015 at the PDEA National Headquarters in Quezon City, PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac Jr, encouraged the NGOs active participation on the discussion to the proposal of creating a national federation of PDEA-accredited NGOs who will provide support and assistance in promoting the anti-drug campaign and mobilizing citizen-support to the anti-drug campaign.

The 13 PDEA accredited NGOs are Balikatan People’s Alliance; Bantay-Bayan Foundation, Incorporated; BRAD-Federation of Integrated Volunteers and Education Association, Inc.; Centennial Force Foundation Inc.; Christian Light Foundation; Citizen’s Crime Watch Special Task Force; Community Crime Watch; Confederation of Community Oriented Policing System (CCOPS); Kabataan Iwas Droga Movement Inc.; Mission to Help the Poor Association Group Inc.; Prime Movers for Peace and Progress; Heart Foundation; and Philippine Council of NGO’s Against Drug and Substance Abuse.

The 13 PDEA accredited NGOs have undergone assessment, evaluation as a requirement for accreditation. The assessment and evaluation serves as basis to prevent any unscrupulous activities like soliciting donations using their affiliation as NGO-partner of PDEA. These will also encourage them to fulfill their obligations as PDEA partners in the national anti-drug campaign.
