To join the contest, a participating individual or group should buy one whole lechon in any of the member establishments of the La Loma Lechoneros, where it will be dressed in their chosen theme or design.

Aside from the lechon parade, the city’s tourism department bared that a culinary contest for amateur chefs, where they will use a 0.5 kilo of lechon as main ingredient in their entry dish, to highlight the event.

The parade along a 2-kilometer route will kick off at Calavite Street, which is home to some of the country’s famous lechon makers, like Pingping’s Lechon, Mila’s and Lydia’s Lechon, to name a few.

The lechon festival, which is one of the highlights of the city’s Diamond Jubilee celebration, is part of the city government’s vigorous effort to transform the La Loma area into a major tourism attraction.
