CLGCFI, DILG, DTI to confer Streamlining Awards

More than thirty (30) awards in four (4) categories will be given to local government units for their exemplary achievements in enhancing business environment in the region.  The Central Luzon Growth Corridor Foundation Inc. (CLGCFI), chaired by Tarlac Governor Victor A. Yap, is organizing this annual event with the support of the Department of Trade and Industry – Central Luzon (DTI -3) and the Department of Interior and Local Government – Central Luzon (DILG -3).

The 9th Recognition of Outstanding Central Luzon LGUs implementing the Streamlining Program was held at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Clark Freeport Zone last April 23, 2015. Exemplary LGUs will be conferred awards in the following categories: 1) Most Outstanding LGU Implementing the Streamlining Program in the Issuance of Mayor’s Permit 2) Most Outstanding LGU for IT Innovations 3) Best in Customer Relations 4) Most Successful LGU in the Institutionalization of Business Permits and Licensing System (BPLS) reforms.

DTI–3 Director Judith P. Angeles welcomed DTI Undersecretary Adrian S. Cristobal Jr., as the keynote speaker for the event. DILG Regional Director Florida M. Dijan will present and explain the categories and the awards process.  The event will also include the Oath Taking of the Central Luzon Association of BPLOs (CLAB).

Director Angeles said that Central Luzon continues to be one of the logical investment destinations in the country because of the support that LGUs are providing by streamlining their processes to make entry of business and investment easier and more cost-effective.

She also said that all of the 130 LGUs in Central Luzon have adopted the BPLS. Under this system agreed upon by DTI and DILG under Joint Memorandum Circular No. 01 in 2010, business registration is enhanced through a system of unified forms, standards steps, standard processing time and rationalized signatories.
