PDEA VOWS BIGGER AND STRONGER PRESENCE

Senator Poe attends 13th anniversary celebration

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has vowed to be a bigger and stronger presence in the nation’s fight against illegal drugs.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. made the commitment during the PDEA 13th Anniversary Celebration on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at the PDEA National Headquarters in Quezon City.

“PDEA has surrounded itself with a firm purpose to execute the right action, thus producing the desired results- results that are felt by each and every member of society, including our adversaries,” Cacdac said, referring to the anniversary theme, “Laban ng Droga, Ramdam ni Juan at Juana”.

The Director General led the Agency’s key officials, personnel and distinguished guests during the anniversary program, with Honorable Senator Grace Poe, as the guest of honor and speaker.

As a matter of tradition, PDEA held its annual awards to honor its men and women who have demonstrated exceptional service over and above the call of duty. PDEA likewise recognized the invaluable support of individuals and organizations which have contributed to the success of the national anti-drug campaign.

The anniversary program also featured an audio-visual presentation which showcased thePDEA Director General’s Report, summarizing the highlights of the fiscal year in review and emphasizing the significant accomplishments posted by the Agency, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, from July 2014 to April 2015.

Among the significant anti-drug operation were the dismantling of shabu laboratories in Masbate province last February 14, 2015 and in Barangay Newagac, Gattaran, Cagayan last February 26, 2015. Also recorded for the period was the neutralization of two storage facilities of illegal drugs in San Fernando City, Pampanga last September 12, 2014, and the dismantling of clandestine laboratories used in the manufacture of shabu in Valenzuela City and Camiling, Tarlac on October 15, 2014 and November 6, 2014, respectively.

“PDEA owes it to the public, giving in return an assurance of protection from any danger brought about by the drug menace. These achievements were the result of PDEA’s presence on all anti-drug battle fronts- a compelling presence that is bound to be seen, heard and felt by everyone,” Cacdac said. (Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
