PDEA, PNP SEIZED 2 KILOS OF MARIJUANA IN DAVAO DEL NORTE

Anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine DrugEnforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) seized two kilos of marijuana during a buy-bust operation in Davao del Norte on June 20, 2015.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that at around
10:15 pm, joint elements of the PDEA Regional Office 11 (PDEA RO 11) under the direct supervision of Director Emerson R. Rosales and Sto.Tomas Municipal Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation in Feeder Road 8, Brgy. Poblacion, Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte against Bambam Bacus, alias Bambam, 25 years old, who eluded arrest after
sensing the presence of the arresting team.

The operation resulted in the confiscation of two kilos of dried marijuana leaves with an  estimated value of P70,000.

A case for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) Article II of RA 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed in court against Bacus who is at-large.

On June 20, 2015, at around 10:30 pm, the same law enforcement unit and Sta. Cruz Municipal Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation in front of Franklin Baker, Brgy. Coronon, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur which resulted in the arrest of Brando Benito Marandang, 39 years old and a resident of Matanog, Maguindanao.

Confiscated from Marandang was a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing five grams with an estimated value of P45,180.00.

Cases for violation of Sections 5 and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of RA 9165 will be filed in court against Marandang.

On June 20, 2015, at around 11:20 in the evening, combined elements of PDEA Regional Office 5-Albay Provincial Office and Tabaco City Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation against Thumer Broncate y Bernal, 34, married and a resident of Purok 5, San Vicente, Tabaco City, Albay.

Broncate was arrested after he agreed to sell one heat-sealed of transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu to a PDEA agent who acted as poseur-buyer.

Also confiscated from Broncate were two pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 24.856 grams of shabu, and the buy-bust money used during the operation.

Cases for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article of RA 9165, will be filed in court against Broncate. (Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
