PDEA DISMANTLES DRUG DEN IN COTABATO CITY

Drug den maintainer, 9 customers arrested

Anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) dismantled a drug den and arrested its maintainer along with nine customers who were present during the conduct of the anti-drug operation in Cotabato City.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that the house, doubling as a drug den in Purok Sampaloc, Mother Barangay, Cotabato City is owned and maintained by Nasser Juiamblang Mingka, 44 years old, of Esteros, RH9, Cotabato City.

On June 10, 2015, at around 12:40 pm, operating teams of PDEA ARMM under Director Yogi Felimon L. Ruiz conducted a buy-bust operation in Purok Sampaloc, Mother Barangay, Cotabato City that led to the dismantling of a drug den maintained by Mingka.

Mingka was arrested after he sold and handed-over one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer. Seized from Mingka were six pieces of plastic sachets containing shabu weighing approximately 30 grams with an estimated street value of P135,000.00.

The operation also resulted in the arrest of nine drug suspects who were inside the drug den, identified as Rosmilla Marohom Biruar, 31; Jun Mangumpala Salik, 32, of Kabundalan, Maguindanao; Saudi Canda, 44; Mohammad Arsad Simpal, 26; Tho Taucop Pinde, 36; Baldo Mangumpala Salik, 35; Allan Tan Kamad, 35, Michael Ganduan Arimao, 24; and Roy
Andy Valle Ong, 37.

They were caught sniffing shabu inside the den. Confiscated from their possession were an aluminum tooter, one pair of scissors, disposable lighters, test tubes used as improvised glass tooters and several empty plastic sachets with shabu residue.

Mingka will be charged for violation of Section 6 (Maintenance of a Drug Den), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II, of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of
2002. A separate case for violation of Section 7 (Visitor of a Drug Den) and Section 11, 12, and 15 (Use of Dangerous Drugs) will be filed against the nine other suspects. (Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
