DRUG STING YIELDS P225,000 WORTH OF SHABU IN MAGUINDANAO

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), in coordination with the Philippine National Police (PNP) conducted an entrapment operation in Maguindanao which yielded P225,000 worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, on Friday, June 5, 2015.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that the illegal drug weighing approximately 50 grams was placed inside a piece of heat-sealed plastic sachet. It was confiscated from suspect identified as Baingkong Anayatin Silongan, 46 years old, a vendor from Upper Capiton, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.

At around 6:30 in the morning, elements of PDEA Regional Office-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA RO-ARMM) under Director Yogi Filemon Ruiz, in coordination with Datu Odin Sinsuat Municipal Police Station, arrested Silongan after he sold the illegal
drug to a poseur-buyer in his house in Upper Capiton.

Seized from Silongan were one digital weighing scale, an all-weather tooter and the P1,000 marked bill used as buy-bust money.

He will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
