DRUG GROUP MEMBER BUSTED IN KIDAPAWAN CITY

A suspected member of a local drug group was arrested by anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during a buy-bust operation in Kidapawan City on June 30, 2015.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. identified the suspect as Peter John Ararao, 26 years old, a resident of Balindog, Kidapawan City. Ararao is a member of the Matalam Drug Group operating in Kidapawan City.

At around 3:30 in the afternoon, elements of PDEA Regional Office-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA RO-ARMM) under Director Yogi Filemon Ruiz conducted an entrapment operation against a certain Richard Bacus but instead another personality in the person of Ararao showed up and sold one plastic sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, to a poseur-buyer in Overland
Terminal, Poblacion, Kidapawan City.

When frisked, Ararao yielded an additional four sachets of the illegal drug, one mobile phone and the P300 marked money.

Ararao will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II, of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Earlier on the same day, at around 1:50 pm, the same operating unit arrested Faisal Mamarinta Delos Santos, alias Bong Mamarinta, 33, after he sold and handed over a sachet of shabu to a PDEA agent who disguised himself as a buyer in Purok Masagana, Malagapas, RH 10, Cotabato City.

A case for violation of Section 5 of the anti-drug law, awaits Delos Santos. (Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
