BARANGAY TANOD, 2 PUSHERS ARRESTED IN PDEA ANTI-DRUG OPERATIONS

A barangay tanod and two suspected drug pushers were arrested by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during separate buy-bust operations in Naga and Puerto Princesa City on May 31 and June 1, 2015.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr., identified the suspects as Miguel Tesorero y Agsangre, alias Giltok, 43 years old, married, a barangay tanod of Zone 4A Doña Clara Village, Concepcion Pequeño, Naga City, Camarines Sur;  Wenifredo Manabat y Sierra, 23, vendor, of Zone 4A Doña Clara Village, Concepcion Pequeño, Naga City, Camarines Sur; and Enrique Divino y Padul, alias Ta Riki, 39, single, and a resident of Purok Everlasting, San Manuel, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

On June 14, 2014, joint elements of PDEA Regional Office 5 (PDEA RO5) under Director Bryan B. Babang and Naga City Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation against Manabat and Tesorero which resulted in their arrest along Zone 4A, Spillway, Doña Clara Village, Concepcion Pequeño, Naga City, Camarines Sur.

Confiscated from the suspects were eight pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu and the buy-bust money.

Manabat and Tesorero are temporarily detained at the Naga City Police Office and cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of RA 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them.

On May 31, 2015, at around 11:40 pm, combined elements of PDEA Regional Office 4B Palawan Provincial Office under Director Archie A. Grande and Palawan Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (AIDSOTF) conducted a buy-bust operation along Road 1, Purok Everlasting, Brgy. San Manuel, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan that led to the arrest of Divino after he agreed to sell one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet suspected shabu to a PDEA agent who acted as poseur-buyer.

Recovered from Divino were another two pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of shabu and marked money used in the operation.

Divino will face charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of RA 9165. (Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
