Combined operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) infiltrated an impenetrable area in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan during the implementation of a search warrant in the early morning of July 14, 2015.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that the area is located in Purok 4, Muslim Compound, Centro 10, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, which is among the hardest target areas in the city.
At around 2:30 in the morning, joint elements of PDEA Regional Office 2 (PDEA RO2) under Director Derrick Arnold Carreon, NBI Cagayan Valley Regional Office 2, Regional Public Safety Battalion and Tuguegarao
City Police Station searched the house of Taha Maka’Agir, alias Kaka/Aslanie, 40 years old, unemployed, in Purok 4, Muslim Compound.
Maka’Agir is PDEA/PNP’s most wanted drug personality in the province of Cagayan.
During the operation, Maka’Agir opened fire at the entering team andmanaged to elude arrest despite due diligence by operatives to pursue him. He remains at large. However, Maka’Agir’s wife, Annie, 30, who was inside the house, was apprehended.
Seized inside were five plastic sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, weighing approximately 30 grams, with an estimated street value of P120,000, assorted drug paraphernalia, bank transaction receipts, record books, one 9mm magazine for submachine gun, four pieces of live ammunition for cal. 9mm, one fragmentation grenade and four pieces of spent cal. 9mm cartridges.
A case for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,is being prepared for filing in court against the Maka’Agirs. Annie is temporarily detained at PDEA RO2 Jail Facility in Camp Marcelo Adduru,Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
Last week, Erwin Maury Rabonza, 46, who is the Number One target-listed drug personality of Isabela and his cohort,finally fell in the hands of operatives of PDEA RO2 during an entrapment operation in Purok 2, Barangay Libertad ,Echague,Isabela. Confiscated from them were nine transparent plastic sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, weighing more or less five grams, with an estimated value of P13,000 and various drug paraphernalia.
