PDEA BUY-BUST YIELDS P600,000 WORTH OF SHABU IN ILOILO

Four suspects arrested

Twenty transparent plastic sachets containing methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, worth P600,000, were seized
from four male pushers by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during a buy-bust operation in Iloilo City.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G Cacdac, Jr. said that the illegal drug, which weighed approximately 100 grams, was seized from suspects Ricarido Fuentes, Jr., alias Bongbong, 30 years old, a resident of Rodriguez, Rizal; Reynante Atamosa, alias Bay, 35, from Tubungan, Iloilo; Rogelio Moleta, alias Jun-jun, 19; and Richard Nalaunan, alias Buloy, 30, both residents of Silay City, Negros Occidental.

A PDEA undercover agent was able to hatch a transaction with the four suspects to facilitate the sale of 100 grams of shabu placed in 20 plastic sachets and agreed to meet with the poseur-buyer in Ongbun Pension House, Ledesma Street, Iloilo City on July 10, 2015 at around 3:12 in the morning.  Upon the pre-arranged signal, elements of PDEA Regional Office 6 (PDEA RO6) under Director Paul Ledesma swooped down on the suspects after they received the P10,000 buy-bust money in exchange for the illegal drug.

A case for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) in relation to Section 26 (Conspiracy to Sell) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is being prepared for filing in court against the suspects. (Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
