QC TO START COMPUTER TRAINING FOR HEALTH CENTERS

The Quezon City Council has approved an ordinance providing for the computerization of health centers in the city.

The ordinance seeks to computerized records of patients in order to reduce long waiting time in retrieving their health records.

The computerization of records will be timely in acquiring required records and statistics of different diseases to monitor morbidity, mortality and outbreaks and epidemic and quick analysis of performance indicators for immediate intervention.

In line with this, Councilor Raquel Malangen will hold an informal training for medical officers and health workers in six barangay health centers in District 4, namely Bgy. Kamuning, Tatalon, Kaunlaran, Pinayahan, San Isidro Galas and Dona Imelda starting on the 4th week of August.

Malangen said they will undergo informal training or refresher for the use of computers which will be distributed by her office. She said that at least three (3) desktop computer sets will be given to every health center in her district by September.

She said that the slow processing of documents in government offices and agencies has been a problem, too, in health centers in QC.

Being a computer programmer and system analyst, Malangen said she believes that the solution for the problem is computerization.

Malangen co-sponsored the measure with Councilors Precious Castelo,  Francisco Calalay Jr., Dorothy Delarmente, Anthony Peter Crisologo, Ric Belmonte Jr., Joseph Juico, Alexis Herrera, Alfredo Vargas III, Eden Medina, Aly Medalla, Roderick Paulate, Godofredo Liban II, Julian Coseteng, Allan Reyes, Jaime Borres, Don de Leon, Gian Sotto, Eufemio Lagumbay, Jesus Sunta, Jessica Daza, Vincent Belmonte, Marvin Rillo, Ranulfo Ludovica and John de Guzman.
