DURING a demo farm visit in Pandi, Bulacan, DAR Secretary Virgilio Delos Reyes (from right) discusses with Israeli Ambassador Zvi Vapni (center), the impact of the trainings conducted by the Philippine Israeli Center for Agricultural Training phase (PICAT 2) to the farmers of Central Luzon. The 250 sq. m. farm lot, implemented under PICAT II technology grows an abundant variety of vegetables which includes tomatoes, eggplants, papaya, string beans, and peppers among others. The PICAT II is a collaborative undertaking of the State of Israel and the Government of the Philippines and is jointly implemented by DAR, Central Luzon State University (CLSU) and concerned experts to the country to share their agricultural knowledge and techniques to the agrarian reform beneficiaries of the country.
