Mga ayaw mag-waste segregation, pagmumultahin ng pamahalaan

Multa at iba pang parusa ang aabutin ng mga kabahayan na ayaw paghiwalayin ang nabubulok sa hindi nabubulok na basura. Sa pang-Biernes na edisyon ng PIA Communication and News Exchange (CNEX) Forum, sinabi ni Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Ramon Paje na seryoso ang pamahalaan sa pagpapatupad ng Republic Act No.9003 o Ecological Solid Waste Management Act.

 “Dapat i-manage ang basura, hindi ni mayor, hindi ni vice mayor o ni kapitan,”sabi ni Secretary Paje,”bago pa lang ilabas ng bahay, dapat segregated na (hiwalay na ang basura).”

Ipinaliwanag ng kalihim na lahat ng mga nabubulok ay pwedeng gawing pataba, samantalang marami naman ang kumita na at kumikita pa rin sa pagbebenta ng bote, dyaryo, lata, at iba pang hindi nabubulok na pwedeng pang gamitin o i-recycle.

Sa Metro Manila, nagbabala si Secretary Paje na magmumulta ng halos kalahating milyong piso ang sinumang kulektor na maghahakot at tatanggap ng magkakahalong basura.

“Nakikiusap na po kami sa lahat ng mayor na lagyan ng penalty ang lahat ng mga bahay na hindi nagsesegregate ng basura,” sabi ni Paje.(PIA)
