DAR turns over deep well pumps in Masbate

INUMING tubig ang isa sa pangunahing pangangailangan ng tao upang mabuhay.

Kaya naman ang Department of Agrarian Reform kamakailan ay nagsalin ng pamamahala ng 17 deep well pumps sa ilalim ng proyektong Potable Water System (PWS) upang magbigay ng supesyete at malinis na tubig sa miyembro ng Cueva agrarian reform community sa San Pascual, Masbate.

Tinatayang halos P1.5 milyong piso ang halaga ng proyekto ayon kay OIC-Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Herald Tambal. Dagdag pa ni Tambal, isa ito sa major DAR projects para sa ARC sa ilalim ng Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project III (ARISP III).

Ayon kay PARPO Tambal, itinuturing na ang PWS ay isang napaka-praktikal at kapaki-pakinabang na proyekto para sa mga benepisyaryong magsasaka dahil ang Cueva ARC ay isang pulo na kulang sa suplay ng tubig. Dahil dito, binigyang pagkilala nya ang Alkalde na si Zacarina A. Lazaro dahil sa pakikipagtulungan nito sa mga proyekto ng DAR.

Kaaalinsabay ng proyektong nabanggit ay magkatuwang din sila sa Farm to Market Road na isinalin din sa lokal na pamahalaan noong Mayo 2015 na nagkakahalaga ng 34.2 milyong piso.

Sa seremonya ay sinasaksihan din ito nina Municipal Engineer Ramon Reorizo, Jr. and Cueva Water Users Association Chairman Wilfredo Dela Cruz. (Cathy Cruz)
