AFP TO FIELD OUTREACH TEAMS IN QC BARANGAYS

Ang Quezon City ay pinili ng Sandatahang Lakas ng Pilipinas para sa Joint Task Force sa National Capital Region (NCR) para mag host ng pilot testing ng AFP’s community outreach program.

Sa ilalim ng aktibidad team ng “Bayanihan” ng AFP, ang enlisted military personnel ay bolontaryong tumulong sa ibat ibang gawain sa komonidad, tulad ng rescue and relief operations, environmental protection at solid waste management, security, peace and order at  anti- drug addiction drive. Apat na Barangay sa kyusi ang kasali, tulad ng, Commonwealth, Holy Spirit, Culiat at Escopa 1, ay napili para pangunahan pagsasagawa ng programa, kung saan mananatili ang operasyon hanggang Disyembre ngayon taon.

Ang memorandum of agreement ay sinelyuhan sa pagitan nina Mayor Herbert Bautista at ng representatives ng AFP, kasama ang mga opisyal ng apat na barangay na kasali, upang gawing pormal ang paglulunsad ng programa kung saan sinabi ni Mayor Bautista na may mahalagang papel sa pagdagdag ng peacekeeping efforts sa law enforcement agencies. “Hopefully, we can expand the program in other Quezon City barangays,” sabi ni Mayor Bautista.

Humiling ang Alkalde sa AFP-JTF na makipag-coodirnate sa mga grupo bilang bahagi ng proposed program expansion.

Nagbabala ang alkalde na ang AFP-JTF ng pagbabago sa barangay para sa pagkapamilyar ng mga residente. Sina Col. Vicente Gregorio B. Tomas, Col. Benjamin Hao at Maj. Emmanuel Resurreccion ang kinatawan noong panahon ng okasyon. Naroon din si QC Barangay Operations Center Chief Jorge Felipe at sinabing, “This project is expected to augment the manpower requirement of the Bbarangays.” (Precy)
