PDEA GRANTS REWARDS TO TWO TIPSTERS

Two civilian informants received cash rewards from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) under the PDEA: Operation Private Eye (OPE).

The two informants, who received their monetary rewards on July 15, 2015 at the PDEA National Headquarters in Quezon City, were identified through their codenames: Star and Mayor.

Star received worth P152,671.84 by providing information that led to the seizure of 1,916.8 grams of shabu and the arrest of two drug personalities during a buy-bust operation in Malate, Manila on April 11, 2015 by joint anti-narcotics operatives of PDEA Special Enforcement Service (PDEA-SES) and PNP-Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (PNP-AIDSOTF).

Mayor was rewarded with P54,391.26 who gave the information which resulted to the seizure of 1006.1 grams of shabu and the arrest of two drug personalities during a buy-bust operation in Arlegui Street, San Miguel, Manila on February 10, 2015 by elements of PDEA Regional Office 3 (PDEA RO3) under Director Jeoffrey C. Tacio.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that the OPE is a citizen-based information collection program of the PDEA, the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) and various non-government organizations involved in the national campaign against illegal drugs.

The Private Eye Rewards Committee, composed of members from academe, non-government organizations, law enforcement, religious and business sectors, approved a resolution granting a total of P207,063.10 monetary rewards to informants Star and Mayor after a careful deliberation.

“All information we received through the Operation Private Eye (OPE) are being handled with utmost secrecy. All concerned citizens who are not a member of any law enforcement agencies or any government agency  not exercising enforcement functions can provide any information that will lead to the confiscation, destruction ofdangerous drugs and eradication of marijuana plantations,” Cacdac said.

To report illegal drug activities, informants could send the information to PDEA “Operation “Private Eye” c/o Room 207 PDEA Bldg., NIA Northside Road, National Government Center, Brgy. Pinyahan, QuezonCity, Tel No. 927-9702 local 150, Fax No: (02) 9272899; or personally submit to the nearest PDEA office. (Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
