Methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, worth P1.3 million was seized from a suspected pusher during a buy-bust operation in Cebu City on July 17, 2015.
Combined operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Philippine National Police (PNP) seized the illegal drug weighing 325 grams from the suspect identified as Samuel Adlawan y Alcontin, 35 years old, construction worker and a resident of Sitio Calejon, Brgy. Labangon, Cebu City.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that at around 6:30 in the morning, combined elements of PDEA Regional Office 7 (PDEA RO7) under Director Jefrrey Bangsa and City Intelligence Branch of Cebu City Police Office conducted a buy-bust operation in the vicinity of Sitio Calejon, Brgy. Labangon, Cebu City that resulted in the arrest of Adlawan after he agreed to sell two pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachet containing suspected to be shabu weighing 50 grams to a PDEA undercover agent.
Confiscated from Adlawan were another 11 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing shabu weighing approximately 275 grams and the buy-bust money. The total of shabu seized from Adlawan were 325 grams with an estimated value of P1.3 million.
Cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are now being prepared for filing in court against Adlawan.
