EdgePoint Achieves Key Milestones in Expanding Digital Infrastructure Across the Philippines

EdgePoint Infrastructure, a leading ASEAN-based independent telecommunications infrastructure company, has announced significant strides in addressing the country’s digital connectivity gap through its local arm, EdgePoint Towers Inc. (“EdgePoint Philippines”).

In the first quarter of 2025 alone, the company successfully completed more than 300 co-locations, constructed 100 new Build-To-Suit (BTS) towers, and marked a pivotal expansion into the Visayas region with the deployment of its first two BTS sites in Central Philippines.

These developments are part of EdgePoint’s broader mission to provide critical infrastructure that supports better mobile and broadband connectivity across the archipelago, particularly in underserved and remote areas.

“We are committed to bridging the tower-to-population gap in the Philippines, where currently there is approximately one tower for every 3,500 people,” said William Walters, CEO of EdgePoint Philippines. “While new towers are important, co-location enables faster, more efficient connectivity by allowing multiple mobile network operators (MNOs) to share the same infrastructure.”

Since its market entry in 2022, EdgePoint has scaled its operations through a mix of tower acquisitions and organic growth. The company now boasts a portfolio of 3,000 sites, making it the fourth largest independent tower company in the country.

EdgePoint’s efforts align with the Philippines’ Common Tower Policy, introduced in 2020 to encourage infrastructure sharing and reduce duplication of efforts among telecom providers. The policy has spurred greater investment in digital infrastructure, improved network coverage, and facilitated the faster rollout of mobile and 5G services.

The recent expansion into the Visayas, a region known for its challenging terrain and remote islands, marks a milestone for the company. Walters noted that building towers in such geographies poses logistical and cost challenges, but remains a crucial step in ensuring nationwide digital access.

“Our successful delivery of BTS sites in Visayas underscores our commitment to enabling seamless, countrywide connectivity,” Walters said. “We are focused on accelerating the Philippines’ digital future—one tower at a time.”

EdgePoint’s growth and commitment to infrastructure sharing continue to support the Philippine government’s digital agenda, especially as demand surges for high-speed mobile and internet services across both urban and rural communities.#
