Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista speaking in front of mayors, former mayors and other local leaders from 70 countries during the 2nd World Congress of Cities and Adaptation to Climate Change of the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) Local Government for Sustainability in Bonn, Germany last June 3-5. Members of the ICLEI are considering Mayor Bautista as one of the candidates for the next chair of the World Mayors Council on Climate Change. As one of the signatories, the QC Government is committed to adopt and implement local climate mitigation measures designed to achieve its voluntary reduction targets, develop local adaptation strategies to address the local impact on climate change and promote partnerships and city-to-city cooperation.
