Fraternity leader laments disunity, call for reunification of Philippine Eagles

A senior member of the Philippine Eagles fraternity has issued an emotional appeal for unity amid growing divisions within the historic brotherhood, sparking discussions among members about the organization’s future.

In a heartfelt Facebook post titled “Sugatang Agila, Naghahangad ng Pagkakaisa” (A Wounded Eagle, Longing for Unity), the author, identified as “Kuya Bong” from the fraternity’s Kalsada chapter, expressed profound grief over the fragmentation of the once-cohesive organization.

A Brotherhood in Crisis
The post reflects on the Eagles’ proud legacy, founded on ideals of unity and service, but laments the rise of splinter groups. “I see more and more breakaway groups forming… proof that we still struggle to mend our differences,” Kuya Bong wrote. “Every rift pulls us further away from the very ideals we pledged to uphold.”

The message carries a tone of both pride and disillusionment, with the author questioning whether it remains meaningful to identify as an Agila (Eagle) amid the discord. “I have always loved being an Agila… but in moments like this, I cannot help but ask myself—is it still worthy to be one?”

A Plea for Reconciliation
Despite his sorrow, Kuya Bong urged fellow members to refocus on their shared mission: “My hope is that we can set aside what divides us… and work towards flying again as one strong and united Philippine Eagles.” He emphasized that only through solidarity could the fraternity honor its oath and preserve its heritage for future generations.

The post concludes with a rallying cry: “Mabuhay ang Agila—isang Agila, para sa bayan, para sa kapatiran” (Long live the Eagle—one Eagle, for the nation, for the brotherhood).

Fraternity Reacts
The public post has drawn reactions from Eagles members, with many echoing concerns over the organization’s direction. Some commentators praised Kuya Bong’s courage in addressing the issue, while others shared personal accounts of the fraternity’s declining cohesion.

Insiders suggest the divisions stem from ideological clashes, leadership disputes, and generational gaps within the organization. The Philippine Eagles, one of the country’s oldest fraternities, has faced similar challenges in the past but has historically rallied during crises.

Moving Forward
Kuya Bong’s message has reignited debates about reforms needed to restore unity. Whether his call will translate into concrete action remains uncertain, but it has undoubtedly stirred introspection among members.

As the Eagles grapple with internal strife, the fraternity’s ability to reconcile its differences may determine whether it soars as one—or continues to fracture.

Past National Presidents League Supports NP Ronald Delos Santos and Call for Unity to all Eagles

In 7th day of January 2025, The Fraternal Order of Eagles-Philippine Eagles, Inc. Past National Presidents League has officially affirmed its support for newly elected National President Ronald Delos Santos through PENAPLE Resolution No. 1, Series of 2025. The resolution, unanimously approved by the organization’s council of past presidents during a special meeting at Grand Westside Hotel, Parañaque, validates Delos Santos’ November 2024 election victory and endorses his administration’s legitimacy. PENAPLE Chairman Salvador “Badong” Ramos, a former Tibuli vice mayor, emphasized the need for unity, stating the resolution marks a turning point for the 45-year-old brotherhood amid internal challenges.

During an emotional ceremony, hundreds of Eagles joined hands in a symbolic pledge of solidarity, vowing to support Delos Santos’ priorities—including establishing a permanent national headquarters and refocusing on their charitable mission. “When we stand together, nothing is impossible,” declared Ramos, a member since 1984, as the assembly closed with shouts of “Long live the Eagles!”—signaling renewed determination to strengthen the organization under its new leadership.#
