Singapore — Superheroes are taking to the seas as Disney Cruise Line and Marvel Comics officially unveiled an exclusive comic book created especially for the launch of Disney Adventure, the cruise line’s newest ship set to homeport in Asia starting December 15, 2025.
The special 32-page collector’s comic — Amazing Adventures #1: Special Edition 2025 — will feature some of Marvel’s most iconic characters, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America, in a high-stakes, high-seas storyline designed to thrill fans young and old. Guests aboard select sailings of the Disney Adventure will receive complimentary copies directly in their staterooms.
Celebrating both Marvel’s storytelling legacy and the historic debut of the Disney Adventure in Asia, the comic is helmed by Eisner-nominated writer Alyssa Wong, known for their work on Star Wars: Doctor Aphra and Deadpool, and features cover art by celebrated Filipino comic book artist Leinil Francis Yu. Yu, who co-created Wave, Marvel’s first Filipino superhero, brings a distinct regional flair to the collaboration.
“This project is incredibly special for us,” said Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski. “We’re combining Marvel’s classic characters with a new setting and including Wave, a hero who represents the Philippines. It’s a story of global adventure and local pride.”
Originally introduced in the 1960s, Amazing Adventures was Marvel’s experimental anthology series. The 2025 reboot pays homage to the original while offering a fresh, ocean-bound tale tied closely to Disney Cruise Line’s newest milestone: the inaugural voyages of the Disney Adventure — the first ship in the fleet to be based in Asia, sailing from Singapore.
To mark the collaboration, a striking comic-style poster of the ship with Marvel heroes has also been revealed, hinting at the action-packed experience awaiting guests on board.
The Disney Adventure will sail from the Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore for a minimum of five years, under a strategic partnership between Disney Cruise Line and the Singapore Tourism Board. It joins a fleet that already includes six award-winning ships and numerous global itineraries.
