Four new members were added to the Order’s Board of Directors and a new Supreme Secretary and Supreme Treasurer were appointed.
Four new members were added to the Knights of Columbus Board of Directors with the title of supreme director.
Newly elected were former supreme warden Meclea L. Casavant; Past State Deputies Arthur J. Harris; Brian W. Simer; and James R. Scroggin.
From Alberta, Canada, Casavant, 69, joined the Order in 1974 and served as supreme warden from 2008 to 2010.
New York Past State Deputy Harris, 66, becomes part of the Order since 1984.
Simer, 48, joined the Order in 1996 and served as Idaho state deputy from 2009-2011.
And Scroggin, 64, served as California state deputy for two non-consecutive terms, from 2001-2002 and 2007-2008 and has been a member of the Order for 32 years.
Meanwhile, a new Supreme Secretary and Supreme Treasurer were appointed on 1 August 2011 by the Order’s Board of Directors.
Filling the vacant position left by the late Emilio B. Moure, the board appointed Brother Charles E. Maurer Jr., as the new supreme secretary and Brother Logan T. Ludwig as supreme treasurer.
Maurer has served the order as supreme treasurer since September 2010 and has been a member of the Board of Directors for 10 years.
Ludwig joined the Knights of Columbus in 1972 in Louisiana, Mo. and has been a district deputy in both Missouri and Illinois and served as state advocate, state treasurer and state secretary in Illinois prior to becoming state deputy in 2004. Yen Ocampo
