QC HEALTH CENTERS TO BE COMPUTERIZED

In an effort to computerize documents and automate health centers in the barangays, a Quezon City Councilor will be distributing at least three (3) desktop computer sets to every health center in the city.

In a message after a flag ceremony, Councilor Raquel Malangen announced the launching of the computerization of the city’s health centers, a project that will be first implemented in District 4.

Six barangay health centers in District 4, namely Bgy. Kamuning, Tatalon, Kaunlaran, Pinyahan, San Isidro Galas and Dona Imelda will be the pilot centers of the said project. A total of 18 desktop computer sets, 3 for each health center, will be distributed.

Medical officers and health workers will undergo informal training or refresher for the use of computers before the distribution of the computers.

Malangen said that the slow processing of documents in government offices and agencies has been a problem, too, in health centers in QC.

Being a computer programmer and systems analyst, she believes that the solution for the problem is computerization.

She thanked Mayor Herbert Bautista, who envisioned a fully computerized and automated health center in the city’s 142 barangays, and Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte for their all out support to the computerization project.

Malangen said that she feels elated that in a period of almost one year, some of her envisioned projects have gradually materialized.

This project on automated health centers is in support of the Community Health Information Tracking System or CHITS which is intended to improve the local health centers’ information system. -30- Divine/ Maureen Quinones, PAISO
