KYUSI MAHIGIT 1 BILLION SOBRA MULA SA KOLEKSYON NG 2014

SA pagtatapos ng taong 2015, ang local na pamahalaan ng Lungsod Quezon ay may sumobra sa kanilang kinita sa buong taon o “surplus” na P1.180 billion, na mas mataas pa kaysa sa nais nilang makolekta.

 

Ayon kay City Treasurer Edgar P. Villanueva, “ito ang maituturing kong pinakamalaking sobra sa mga nagdaang mga taon ng koleksyon.”

 

Paliwanag ni Villanueva, nagmula ito sa mga ibinayad na buwis ng mga nagnenegosyo sa Kyusi (P 7.56 billion) at sa amilyar (P3.75 billion).

 

Tumaas ang nalikom na buwis mula sa mga negosyante ng P902.54 milyon o 13.56 percent kumpara sa nagdaang taon. Samantala, nasa 7.6 percent naman sa nakolektang amilyar.

 

Sa inilabas na pahayag ng Public Affairs and Information Services ng local na pamahalaan ng Quezon City na ang koleksyon ng real-property tax ay hinahati sa tatlo: City Share (P1.73 billion), Barangay Share (P698 million) at Special Education Fund (P1.325 billion) ayon sa batas.

 

Ang Barangay Socorro, Bagumbayan and South Triangle ang itinuturing na may pinakamalaking kontribusyon ng nakokolektang amilyar taon-taon dahil sa dami ng commercial real estate properties dito.

 

Sa ilalim ng Local Government Code of 1991, ang Special Education Fund ay magmumula sa 1 porsiyento ng amilyar upang magamit pampatayo at pag-repair ng mga eskuwelahan, pagpapalimbag ng libro at pambili ng mga gamit panturo at aparato ng mga guro. Kinukuha din sa nasabing pondo ang sustento at benepisyo ng mahigit 10 libong public school teachers.

 

Dahil sa Special Education Fund ay halos kalahating milyong mag-aaral ang nabibiyayaan ng libreng edukasyon mula sa 141 public elementary and high schools, 294 day-care centers, four technical-vocational schools, one city university, at 20 public libraries.

 

Ipinagmamalaki naman ni Mayor Herbert Bautista na ang local na pamahalaan ng Kyusi ay nakapag-remit ng P452 million sa Metro Manila Development Authority bilang bahagi ng internal revenue allotment na may kabuuang halaga ng P3.15 billion.

 

Pagtatapos ni Treasurer Villanueva, ang agresibong paniningil ng buwis ang dahilan ng mataas na koleksyon ng Lungsod Quezon bukod pa sa binibigyang gantimpala ang mga nagbabayad ng buwis ng maaga at parusa sa mga laging huli at hindi nagbabayad sa tamang panahon ng real property at business tax.
