Methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, with an estimated street value of P250, 000, was confiscated by combined elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and local police during the implementation of a search warrant in Camarines Norte on August 6, 2015.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that operatives of PDEA Regional Office 5 (PDEA RO5) Camarines Norte Provincial Office under Director Bryan Babang, in collaboration with teams from Basud Municipal Police Station and Camarines Norte Police Intelligence Service implemented a lawful search on the strength of a search warrant issued by Judge Arniel Dating of RTC Branch 40, Daet, Camarines Norte in Barangay Poblacion, Basud, Camarines Norte, at around 7:30 in the morning.
Arrested during the operation was suspect identified as Aries Carillo, 34 years old, a driver, who yielded one knot-tied plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 50 grams worth P250, 000 and an improvised tooter.
A case for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is being prepared for filing in court against Carillo.
On August 5, 2015, at about 4:00 in the afternoon, agents of PDEA Regional Office 6 (PDEA RO6) under Director Paul Ledesma, arrested Noven Robles, alias Veven, 19, after he sold dried marijuana leaves wrapped in white paper weighing 8.1496 grams to a poseur-buyer in Barangay Laguda, La Paz, Iloilo City.
Robles will be charged for violation of Section 5 of the anti-drug law.
