2 ALABANG BOYS FACE JUDGEMENT TOMORROW

Almost three years after the Alabang Boys were arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on September 20, 2008, Richard Brodett and Jorge Joseph will finally face judgment tomorrow, August 26, 2011.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Jose S. Gutierrez Jr said that the guilty verdict expected by the Agency to be handed down in tomorrow’s promulgation shall be considered a legal triumph for the national anti-drug campaign.

In 2008, the Alabang Boys, Brodett, Joseph, and Joseph Tecson, collectively known as the Alabang Boys were arrested by PDEA for selling ecstasy tablets, cocaine and marijuana.  The case against the suspects became the center of controversy when their families allegedly used money and influence to keep their “boys” out of jail.  Gutierrez is now concerned that the same money and influence will be used to gain favor in court.

“The promulgation of the Alabang Boys’ case tomorrow not only decides the fate of two Alabang Boys.  It also puts to test our very own justice system,” Gutierrez said, hoping that the result of the long legal battle between PDEA and the Alabang Boys will be a testimony that justice cannot be bought.  Evangeline DJ Almenario, Chief, Public Information Office, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency
