The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) has been named a leading knowledge contributor for 2025 to the Socioeconomic Research Portal for the Philippines (SERP-P), a key database managed by the state think tank Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS).

The award was presented during the “25th SERP-P Anniversary and Annual Networking Meeting” at Sequoia Hotel Manila Bay. SEARCA representatives Ms. Bernice Anne De Torres of the Research and Thought Leadership Department and Mr. Stoix Nebin Pascua of the Education and Collective Learning Department accepted the recognition on behalf of the Center.
This marks the sixth time SEARCA has received this accolade, having been previously recognized in 2018 and consecutively from 2021 to 2024. “SEARCA has been consistently recognized as one of SERP-P’s most active and valuable contributors,” stated Mr. Ezekiel Nicomedes, SERP-P Coordinator and Project Manager.
As a SERP-P Network member since May 2013, SEARCA has systematically uploaded studies, policy briefs, journals, and other knowledge products to the portal. These contributions are managed by Ms. Mina Talatala of SEARCA’s Knowledge Management Unit. Nicomedes emphasized that member contributions make vital research accessible to policymakers, educators, students, and development practitioners, fostering evidence-based policy dialogue.
SEARCA’s participation in SERP-P aligns directly with the goals of its 12th Five-Year Plan, “SUSTAIN Southeast Asia,” by amplifying the digital dissemination of agricultural research. This effort supports the Center’s mission to increase farmers’ income, improve food security, build climate-resilient systems, and empower communities and institutions across the region.#
The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) is a non-profit institution dedicated to promoting agricultural and rural development in Southeast Asia through graduate education, research, and knowledge exchange.
The Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) is the Philippine government’s primary socioeconomic policy think tank. Its SERP-P database is an online repository consolidating research from PIDS and partner institutions to inform public policy.#
