TANAY, RIZAL – The ISI E-Beam Tanay Facility, the Philippines’ first and only commercial provider of high-energy electron beam (E-Beam) sterilization, is officially open for business and celebrating its first successful year of operations, announced its President, Francis Paul B. Juat.

In a statement following the facility’s first-year Thanksgiving celebration and blessing, which was attended by partners, customers, employees, and the PNRI (Philippine Nuclear Research Institute), Juat outlined the company’s mission to become a long-term partner for industries requiring advanced sterilization solutions.
A Service for Critical Industries

The facility provides critical E-Beam sterilization services tailored to the needs of the food, pharmaceutical, and medical device industries. This technology ensures that products, even in their final packaged form, meet stringent microbial standards demanded by both local and foreign markets.
“We know that even local or foreign processors are moving to increased food safety and quality of their products,” stated Juat. “What we offer our clients is the ability to treat their products to a quality that their final customers will accept.”
The service is positioned as a comprehensive, end-to-end solution, with the ISI E-Beam team guiding clients from initial testing and packaging to final delivery specifications.
Collaboration, Not Competition, with PNRI
A key highlight of the announcement was the clarification of ISI E-Beam’s relationship with the government’s PNRI. Juat emphasized that the two entities are not in direct competition but are complementary forces in growing the irradiation technology landscape in the country.

While PNRI provided crucial technology transfer and training and maintains a gamma facility and a low-energy E-Beam, ISI E-Beam operates a 100% private, high-energy 10 MeV E-Beam and X-ray modality.

“PNRI is there and we’re there. We’re side by side,” Juat explained. “We help each other.” He detailed that PNRI’s gamma technology is more applicable for high-density products like bags of herbs or thick packaging, whereas ISI E-Beam specializes in low-density, high-dose products like medical devices and pharmaceuticals.
“This means we’re able to cater to the whole spectrum of products,” Juat added, positioning the two providers as a unified front to help more businesses adopt irradiation technology.
A Pioneer Ready to Serve

Juat proudly declared ISI E-Beam as the pioneer in the commercial E-Beam sterilization industry in the Philippines. While acknowledging another in-house user of the technology, he stressed that ISI E-Beam is the sole commercial service provider available to all.

Backed by what he describes as a “very strong, experienced, young, and dynamic” team from A. Brown and ISIE, Juat expressed supreme confidence in their capabilities.

“Our competencies are unmatchable. I think we’re the best in the industry. No one can beat us. We have a head start,” he stated. “We have the expertise. And we’re ready to serve.”
The company has extended an open invitation to all potential clients and partners, offering facility walkthroughs and site tours at their Tanay, Rizal plant. Inquiries can be directed through their website at https://www.isi-ebeam.com/, where contact details are available.#
