US psywar ops affected Filipinos

Perfecto T. Raymundo Jr., Journalist Banat News, The Philippine Star, Manila Bulletin, Philippines News Agency, Philippine Canadian Inquirer, PTV (Philippines), Palawan News, HTDS Content Services

QUEZON CITY – The psywar operations undertaken by the United States, especially during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic (March 15, 2020-December 2022) have affected the Filipinos.

During the Asian Century Philippines Strategic Studies Institute (ACPSSI) Media Forum at Packo’s Bar & Restaurant on Thursday (June 20), ACPSI President Herman “Ka Mentong” Laurel cited the United States’ military atrocity on Filipinos, specifically during the pandemic.

Laurel stressed that the danger of nuclear war is real, and must be stopped as shown in the transcript of an excerpt of Schiller Institute Emergency Conference which was held in the United States National Press Club (NPC) on June 12, 2024.
“The recent experiences like the Ukrainian experience is a ‘stark reminder’ to the Filipino people such that the Philippines would not end up as the ‘Ukraine of Asia’,” Prof. Anna Malindog-Uy said via livestream from Beijing, China.

“During the Covid-19 epidemic, it is evident that the United States was engaged in the ‘manipulation’ about the Sinovac Chinese vaccine has led to physical damages to Filipinos in combating the epidemic in saving lives and fighting the virus,” Uy added.

“No doubt that the action of Pentagon not only undermined the health and safety of Filipinos, especially during the global health pandemic in the context of global health crisis,” Uy stressed.

“On the other hand,” Uy said, “Let us resolve the South China Sea dispute through diplomacy.”

Uy is now attending a conference in Beijing, China, but she is monitoring the Media Forum just the same.
Likewise, Laurel cited the Reuters report on June 14, 2024 which said “Pentagon ran a secret anti-vax campaign to undermine China during pandemic.”

“It was a clear report that the United States did not deny and admitted too,” Laurel said.

The ACPSSI President noted that three United States high-brass individuals such as UN Weapons Inspector Maj. Scott Ritter, World War II veteran and former Senator Col. Richard Black, and Iraq War veteran Col Lawrence Wilkerson – took turns delivering almost the same message to Filipinos.

“Huwag kayong magpaabuso sa America. Mapapasubo kayo sa malaking problema (Don’t be abused by the United States. You will be involved in tremendous problem),” Laurel quoted the three US officials as saying.

“You are a tool, nothing but a tool. And when the toll ceases to be useful, we will discard you… China is not your enemy. China is your neighbor. China is your friend. China doesn’t want war,” the three US officials were quoted as saying.

Laurel also cited a report from the Philippine News Agency (PNA) which said that Pentagon not denying report on discrediting of Chinese vaccines.

“We laud Senator Imee Marcos’ announced investigation of the United States military propaganda campaign against the Chinese vaccine Sinovac as reported by Reuters on June 14,” Laurel said.

“The ACPSSII is fully supporting the conduct an open investigation into the ‘marching orders’ of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. ‘to de-escalate tension in the South China Sea’,” Laurel said.

However, Laurel said, “this was contradicted by Commodore Jay Tarriela, the Spokesman of the Armed Forces of the Philippines for the West Philippine Sea (WPS), which was previously tackled during the Media Forum.”

“Nagtagumpay ba ang secretive. Tarriela came out in the open saying that he cannot speak as he is not part of the operation,” Laurel added.

“Napaligiran po ng China Coast Guard ang Philippine boat at dito ay may malalaking Chinese ship pa. Although this morning, napanood na namin na may video coming from Tarriela,” Laurel said.

“But again, we are still waiting for more videos and information about the incident. Sila ay napaligirian. Sila ay literally nagsurrender. But again, this is tentative conclusion. This is supposed not to happen. The Philippine media is still maintaining a ‘wall of mystery,” he added.

Laurel stressed that the South China Sea is still being disputed by Vietnam and Vietnam is currently aggressively fortifying its claims over the other islands in the SCS and Vietnam has not been speaking with the Americans.

ACPSSII Vice President Ado Paglinawan cited that Paragraph 11, Section 1 of the Arbitral Award from President Aquino and now being used by President Marcos as “victory” that this particular area is a “quintessentially military situation”.

“Ayungin Shoal is not subject to claim for sovereignty of the Philippines based on United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS),” Paglinawan said.

Paglinawan noted that President Joseph Estrada left the BRP Sierra Madre in the WPS in 1999.

“De facto that they (China) are in the possession of the area (Ayungin Shoal),” he said.

“If there are any agreements about the Ayungin Shoal,” Paglinawan quoted President Marcos as saying that “I am rescinding it,” Paglinawan said.

“Tayo ho ang nangduduro. We are poking the dragon. So the other side (China) are now preventing the abuse of the area (Ayungin Shoal),” he added.

Paglinawan noted that February 2023 and we have the “8 bilateral mechanism”, but when Admiral Alberto Carlos enforced the bilateral mechanism, Carlos was sacked. Sarado ang pinto natin sa China. It has affected our economy to the point that our Stock Market is down.

“What is behind the ‘iron clad’ commitment of the United States? US Defense Secretary Austin was quoted as saying that he does not comment on ‘hypothetical situations’,” Paglinawan said.

“The United States does not recognize any territorial claims of the Philippines in any of the islands in the South China Sea based on the 1975 memorandum of Henry Kissinger which has become the Kissinger Doctrine and was declassified in 2022, but only on Treaty limits that they have decreed to us by virtue of our (Philippine) independence, as well as France and the United Kingdom,” he added.

“Nasaan ang Amerika noong magka-Scarborough standoff (Where was the United States when there was the Scarborough standoff)? Paglinawan asked.

“So inalis natin ang BRP Gregorio del Pila at lahat ng Philippine boats sa Scarborough Shoal, pero ang China ay hindi umalis (So we removed BRP Gregorio del Pilar and all Philippine boats in Scarborough Shoal, but China did not leave the area). So that’s how we lost Scarborough Shoal,” he said.

“Nasaan sila (United States) from 2013 to 2015 noong magbuild ng artificial islands ang China sa West Philippine Sea. Sa atin pa kumuha ng buhangin ang China para itambak sa artificial islands (Where was the United States from 2013-2015 when China built artificial islands in the West Philippines. China even secured the sands to dump into the artificial islands),” he added.

Paglinawan wondered where was the United States during the Arbitration period, wherein the Philippines event spent US$7 million in litigation expenses, and the Island-building activities of China in the Scarborough Shoal.
“Mukhang handang-handa na si (Defense Secretary) Gibo Teodoro na makipaggiyera sa China (Teodoro seemed to be already prepared to go to war against China),” he said.

Paglinawan stressed that then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo rushed with the “9522 to precisely draw the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), but only the Benham Rise was approved, the West of the Philippines was not included,” GMA assumed that it would not be approved as well.

“As we speak, the United States does not have ‘hypersonic missiles’ with a speed of 8 MAC, but China and Russia have. The United States may have such missiles but they have no control on IT (Information Technology) yet,” he said.

“The United States has ‘talking heads’ in the Philippines such as the Albert Del Rosario’s Stratbase Strategic Policy Institute which says that the country does not need the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) in so far as the South China Sea dispute is concerned,” Laurel said.

Paglinawan also presented #China Ang Virus wherein with the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the United States military launched its efforts in the Philippines.

He noted that it was only the timely intervention by President Rodrigo Duterte threatening to arrest those who resisted vaccination.

Paglinawan stressed that the sabotage started under former President Donald Trump and continued into the early months of President Joe Biden’s administration.

The ACPSSI Vice President cited that the anti-vax milestones in the Philippines started in the middle of 2021 which was the termination of United States anti-vax campaign and on June 2, 2021 started the arrival of Moderna from the United States.

Pfizer vaccines from the United States arrived on May 12, 2021 and the first rollout of Sputnik V from Russia started on May 3, 2021 and the limited AstraZeneca rollout from the United Kingdom began for the Philippines followed next.

“Why does the Pentagon behave with impunity?” Paglinawan asked.

Then United States President Donald Trump changed “Covid-19” to “Chinese virus” as he did not want “lock ins” as what happened in the Philippines, where Paglinawan said, “the United States seems to love more freedom than more lives.”

Paglinawan also stressed that the World Health Organization (WHO) has also dismissed the allegation that the corona virus, SarCOV2 was caused by a laboratory leak in Wuhan, China.

He added that the WHO also debunked that the virus was transmitted through “zoonotics”.

“if it did not emanate from China, and Sinovac was not effective, why was the effect so catastrophic for the United States?” Paglinawan asked.

“With a world population of 8 billion, only 7,010,681 (people) or .0088% or less than one percent died due to Covid-19,” he stressed.#
