House Bill No. 9939 ng 19th Congress, Dapat Tutulan – KWF

Nanawagan ang Komisyon ng Wikang Pilipino (KWF) na dapat umanong tutulan ang panukalang House Bill No. 9939 ng 19th Congress (Prohibiting Filipino Dubbing of English-Language Motion Pictures and Television Programs, Requiring Audiovisual Production, Broadcasting, Film Distribution or Streaming Services to Provide Filipino Subtitles therein, and for Other Purposes) o Pagbabawal sa Filipino Dubbing ng English-Language Motion Pictures at Television Programs, Nangangailangan ng Audiovisual Production, Broadcasting, Film Distribution o Streaming Services na Magbigay ng Filipino Subtitles doon, at para sa Iba Pang Layunin, na itinutulak ni Negros Occidental 3rd district Rep. Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez.

Nagkakaisa ang Lupong Tagapagpaganap ng Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) na sina Kom. Arthur P. Casanova, Kom. Benjamin M. Mendillo Jr., Kom. Carmelita C. Abdurahman, at Direktor Heneral Atty. Marites A.Barrios-Taran na tutulan ang nasabing panukala dahil hindi kailanman batayan ang pagsasaalang-alang sa kakayahan nating gumamit ng banyagang wika upang isakripisyo ang sarili nating wika para lamang umangat ang iskor ng bansa sa pamatanyang global habang gutom at kumakalam ang sikmura ng maraming mamamayang Pilipino at tulyang mawala ang ating wika na pundasyon ng ating kasarinlan at karunungan.

Ang pag-ban sa pagsasa-Filipino sa mga pelikula ay paniniil sa dapat na maunawaan ng mga Pilipino sa kanilang pinanonood at dapat umano itong tutulan ayon sa KWF.

Ang KWF ay may mandato na itaguyod ang patuloy na pag-unlad at paggamit ng Filipino bílang Wikang Pambansa hábang pinapangalagaan ang mga wikang katutubo ng Pilipinas tungo sa pagkakaunawaan, pagkakaisa, at kaunlaran ng sambayanang Pilipino.#
