CHED Commissioner Darilag, sinuspinde, inatasan ng CHED na imbestigahan ang mga alegasyon

Commissioner Aldrin A. Darilag, Commission on Higher Education (CHED)

Naglabas ngayong linggo ng 90-araw na preventive suspension ang Office of the President (OP) laban kay Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Commissioner Aldrin A. Darilag dahil sa umano’y malubhang maling pag-uugali, kapabayaan sa pagganap ng tungkulin, at pang-aabuso sa awtoridad o pang-aapi.

Bilang isang presidential appointee, si Darilag ay nasa ilalim ng awtoridad sa pagdidisiplina ng OP, na may kapangyarihang suspindihin ang isang nasasakupan na may mga kaso na kinasasangkutan ng kawalan ng katapatan, pang-aapi, malubhang maling pag-uugali, o kapabayaan sa pagganap ng tungkulin.

Inatasan din ni OP ang CHED na magsagawa ng fact-finding investigation para matukoy ang pagkakaroon ng prima facie case para matiyak ang paglalabas ng pormal na kaso laban kay Darilag.

Kaugnay nito, inatasan nito ang CHED na magsumite ng progress reports ng imbestigasyon at mga rekomendasyon para sa pinal na disposisyon.

“Titingnan ng CHED ang usapin nang seryoso at patas. Kami ay nakatuon sa direktiba at pananaw ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos Jr. na tanging ang pinakamahusay, pinakamaliwanag, at pinaka-etikal na indibidwal ang dapat mamuno sa ating pamahalaan,” sabi ni CHED Chairman Popoy De Vera.

“Ang preventive suspension na ito ay ipinataw upang hindi magamit ni Commissioner Darilag ang kanyang opisina at posisyon para maimpluwensyahan ang imbestigasyon at maobserbahan ang angkop na proseso sa proseso”, dagdag ni De Vera.

“Nananawagan ako sa mga opisyal at empleyado ng CHED, kasama na ang higher education community, na gamitin ang kanilang mga tungkulin at kapangyarihan na naaayon sa prinsipyo na ang pampublikong opisina ay isang pampublikong pagtitiwala,” pagtatapos ni De Vera.

Ang 30 state universities and colleges (SUCs) kung saan nakaupo si Darilag bilang Chair-designate ng Board of Regents ay itatalaga ni De Vera sa iba pang mga komisyoner upang matiyak ang pagpapatuloy ng mga programa at proyekto sa mas mataas na edukasyon.#
