Bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng “KaSYENSaYAhan sa CALABARZON 2023”, inorganisa ng DOST-CALABARZON ang kauna-unahang Preliminary Elimination Round ng Regional Robotics Tournament: RoboClash 2023 na may temang “Conquering Ideation: Imagine, Ignite, Inspire,” sa pakikipagtulungan ng Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU) at ang Ideation, Design, and Development Laboratory (IDD) noong Setyembre 12, 2023, sa SM City San Pablo.
Matagumpay na nakamit ng tournament ang mga layunin nito sa pamamagitan ng epektibong pagpapakita ng mga kasanayan at kadalubhasaan ng mga mag-aaral sa pagdidisenyo ng robot, mga control system, at programming. Ang mga kinatawan ng mag-aaral ay nagmula sa iba’t ibang paaralan sa buong lalawigan ng Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, at Quezon. Lumahok sila sa Line Tracing Category, na gumagamit ng mga autonomous na robot upang tumpak na mag-trace o mag-navigate sa isang landas o track sa pamamagitan ng pagsunod sa isang linya sa isang tinukoy na oras. Sa kabilang banda, ang Sumobot Category, na inspirasyon ng sumo wrestling, ay gumagamit ng mga autonomous na robot para itulak ang mga kalaban palabas ng ring o i-disable sila sa loob ng takdang oras.
Dalawang kinatawan mula sa bawat probinsya sa CALABARZON ang umunlad sa Grand Finals sa parehong Line Tracing at Sumobot Battle na mga kategorya.

Ang torneo na ito ay gumanap ng isang mahalagang papel sa pagpapatibay ng mas matibay na koneksyon at relasyon sa mga guro, mag-aaral, at mahilig sa buong rehiyon na may hilig sa mga larangang ito. Ang pagdiriwang ay dinaluhan ng presensya ni Engr. Samuel L. Caperiña, Provincial S&T Director ng Laguna, Propesor Joel M. Bawica, Campus Director ng Laguna State Polytechnic University – San Pablo City Campus, at Dr. Darwin Ofrin EdD, Associate Dean ng College of Industrial Technology sa LSPU SPCC.
Ang mga kalahok sa RoboClash tournament na matagumpay na umabante sa Grand Finals ay maghaharap sa Setyembre 19, 2023, kasama ang seremonya ng parangal na nakatakda sa Setyembre 22, 2023, sa Baker Hall ng University of the Philippines Los Baños.#
