ISAAA magsasagawa ng webinar series sa Biotech Innovations

Ang International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA) Inc. sa pakikipagtulungan ng Department of Agriculture Biotechnology Program Office (DA-BPO); Biotechnology Coalition of the Philippines, Inc. (BCP); Bureau of Animal Industry; at Corteva Agriscience, ay magsasagawa ng isang serye ng Webinar sa Biotech Innovations para sa Sustainable Agriculture mula Nobyembre 8 hanggang 10, 2023.

Ang mga talakayan ay ang mga sumusunod:

  • New Breeding Innovations in Crops: the technologies, application in mitigating pesticide use, and regulations;
  • Biotechnology Applications and Regulation in Animals; and
    Bio-innovation: Potential and challenges, the concept of social license and path to commercialization.

Ang webinar series na ito ay isang build-up na aktibidad para sa 19th National Biotech Week na may temang “Empowering Innovation for Sustainable Future with Biotechnology” na layuning isulong ang mga biotech na inobasyon at ang potensyal na tulong sa pagbuo ng isang napapanatiling sistema ng pagkain at upang bungkalin ang mga pangunahing aspeto upang isaalang-alang sa pagtiyak ng pagpapanatili.

Itatampok sa unang araw ng webinar si Dr. Reynante L. Ordonio, Senior Science Research Specialist sa Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice); Dr. Gabriel O. Romero, Executive Director ng Philippine Seed Industry Association (PSIA); at Ms. Geronima P. Eusebio, OIC – Head of Bureau of Plant Industry Biotechnology Core Team.

Sa Nobyembre 9, tampok sa webinar si Dr. Marvin A. Villanueva, Center Chief ng DA Livestock Biotechnology Center; Dr. Casiano H. Choresca, Jr., Center Chief ng DA Fisheries Biotechnology Center; at Dr. Claro N. Mingala, Direktor ng DA Biotech Program Office.

Ang huling araw ng webinar ay magtatampok kay Dr. Paul S. Teng, Dean at Managing Director ng National Institute of Education International (NIEI); Dr. Wayne Parrot, Propesor ng Pananaliksik sa Unibersidad ng Georgia; at Dr. Ronan G. Zagado, Chief Science Research Specialist at Lead ng Malusog Rice Program sa PhilRice.
