Pagpapabilis ng Pagbabago para sa patuloy na pag-unlad sa pamamagitan ng Siyensya, Teknolohiya at Inobasyon

Ang Philippine Association for the Advancements of Science and Technology (PhilAAST) ay magsasagawa ng ika-71 Taunang Kombensyon sa ika-9 ng Setyember 2022 na may temang“Accelerating Transformations for Sustainable Development Through Science, Technology, and Innovation”.

Matatandaan na ang PhilAAST ay naitatag noong taong 1952. Isang non-profit na Pambansang samahan ng mga Sayentista at echnologists na naglalayong isulong ang pagsulong ng siyensya sa bansa sa pamamagitan ng makaagham na pagsasaliksik, pag-unlad ng teknolohiya at inobasyon.

Sa taong ito, ang PhilAAST ay nakapagsagawa na ng lingguhang webinars mula noong ika-19 ng Hulyo hanggang ika-25 ng Agosto kung saan tinalakay ang mahahalagang isyu at alalahanin sa 5 sub-themes na nakapaloob sa United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) para sa 2030 Agenda for sustainable development. Ang mga sumusunod ay ang mga paksang tinalakay na ilalahad ang buod sa gaganaping Konbensyon:

Integrated Energy Solutions Addressing Security and Sustainability 

Health and Wellness 

Sustainable Utilization of Water, Land, and Soil Resources 

Accelerating Transformations of Sustainable Development through STI in Digital Revolution 

Sa Konbensyon ay gagawaran din ng pagkilala ang mga nanalo sa Best Poster Paper maging ang nagwagi sa iba’t-ibang PhilAAST Awards gaya ng Dr. Gregorio Y. Zara Awards for Basic Research; Dr. Gregorio Y. Zara Awards for Applied Research; Dr. Paulo C. Campos Award for Health Research;
David M. Consunji Award for Engineering Research; LEADS Agri Award for Agricultural Research; Dr. Ceferino L. Follosco Award for Product and Process Innovation; Dr. Michael R.I Purvis Award for Sustainability Research; Dr. Lourdes E. Campos Award for Public Health. #
