Former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. remains the front-runner even after dropping 6 percentage points, now at 54% compared to his 60%, last January 3, while Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso ranked 2nd in the latest survey by Tangere conducted this February 4-5.
In a Zoom press conference, Tangere CEO Martin Peñaflor explained the survey results to the media. He noted that 1 of 3 BBM supporters felt “disappointed” by Marcos Jr.’s no-show at the recent presidential forum by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP).
However, Mayor Isko’s numbers improved significantly at 22.17% from 16.29%, while Vice President Leni Robredo is consistent at around 15%. Moreover, survey participants rated Moreno as the best performing candidate on both The Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews, and the KBP Presidential Forum acquiring 65% and 54% preference from viewers.
For those who watched the one-on-one presidential interviews by talk show host Boy Abunda, Senator Marcos ranked first with 43% preferring him, while Yorme Isko is at 2nd with 39%.
Peñaflor also said that half of the respondents said their current presidential candidate preference will unlikely change.
Interestingly, although only 1 in 5 Filipinos believe that former Senator Marcos will be disqualified in his presidential bid, 54% of the respondents will be voting for Mayor Isko Moreno instead, should BBM be disqualified.
The mobile-based survey was conducted with a margin of error of five percent, with survey respondents proportionately representing the following areas nationwide : 12% from Metro Manila, 23% from North & Central Luzon, 22% from South Luzon, 20% from Visayas and 23% from Mindanao.
