Department of Agriculture Cordillera (DA-CAR) currently distributes Cash and Food Subsidy for Marginal Farmers and Fisherfolk (CFSMFF) in Pudtol municipal gymnasium, Apayao with 34 farmer beneficiaries.
Geared towards revitalizing the country’s economy amidst the onslaught of COVID-19, the CFSMFF program provides Php 3,000 cash and Php 2,000 worth of e-voucher to purchase food subsidy in the form of rice, chicken, and egg. Today, 25 Kgs of rice, two trays of egg, and three Kgs of chicken were provided.
Meanwhile, Pudtol Municipal Mayor Hector Reuel Pascua expressed his gratitude for the outpour of support from government agencies in Apayao despite restrictions posed by COVID-19 in mobility. He emphasized that through interventions such as the CFSMFF, farmers, fishers and indigent families in his locality can be assured that government support can reach far flung areas.

Pursuant to Republic Act 11494 or the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act, DA is mandated to provide extension support direct cash or loan interest rate subsidy to qualified farmers and fisherfolk affected by the socio-economic impacts of the pandemic. Under the Bayanihan Stimulus Package for the Agriculture sector, DA shall implement social Protection and social amelioration projects with CFSMFF as one of the priority intervention. # # # (MJDacillo / DA-RFO CAR, RAFIS)
