FIFA Names Aleph as Sole Commercial Partner for Philippines for 2026 World Cup

FIFA has officially designated global digital advertising firm Aleph as its exclusive partner in the Philippines for the multimedia distribution and commercialization of the FIFA World Cup 2026™, signaling a major evolution in how the tournament will be marketed, distributed, and monetized locally. Announced on February 12, 2026, the agreement grants Aleph full commercial rights management in the country, making it the sole gateway for Philippine brands seeking advertising placements, sponsorships, and cross-platform integrations tied to the world’s biggest football event. The mandate spans free-to-air television, pay TV, digital streaming, mobile platforms, and video-on-demand services, consolidating all commercial access under one operator.

Aleph Philippines Country Head Anna Dy said the partnership reflects football’s accelerating rise in the country’s sports landscape, noting a clear cultural shift toward digital-first fan engagement. “Football has officially moved from the sidelines to the center of the Philippine sports conversation,” Dy said, emphasizing that content creation and real-time social sharing are now central to how fans experience the sport. She added that brands must adapt to what she described as “parallel streams of attention,” where audiences simultaneously consume live broadcasts while engaging on social and digital platforms — a behavioral trend Aleph aims to unify for advertisers.

The move comes amid data showing Asia’s dominant role in digital sports viewership. FIFA’s official audience report for the Qatar 2022 World Cup revealed that Asia generated 65.3% of global video views and 63% of total hours watched across streaming and social media platforms, underscoring the region’s commercial importance ahead of 2026.

The upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026™ will be historic as the first edition featuring 48 national teams competing in 104 matches over 39 days. It is also widely anticipated as the final World Cup appearance for football icons Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, further heightening expectations for record-breaking global engagement.

Aleph, which already represents major digital platforms including X, Pinterest, Reddit, and TikTok in the Philippines, will oversee the end-to-end commercial rollout and multimedia rights execution for the tournament. Operating in more than 130 high-growth markets with partnerships spanning over 50 leading digital platforms, the company positions itself at the intersection of media, cross-border payments, and localized market strategy. Its Digital Ad Expert education program is recognized by UNESCO’s Global Skills Academy.

Founded in 1904, FIFA serves as the global governing body of football with 211 Member Associations. It organizes premier competitions such as the FIFA World Cup™, FIFA Women’s World Cup™, and FIFA Club World Cup™, while overseeing the rules of the game and supporting football development worldwide.#
