Manila Water has announced an expanded schedule of its free desludging service for February 2026, targeting numerous barangays across the East Zone in anticipation of rising temperatures. The company is urging residents in specified areas to prepare for the scheduled maintenance to prevent sanitation issues.
The following barangays are included in the February 2026 deployment:
- Antipolo City: Santa Cruz, Bagong Nayon, San Luis
- Cainta: San Juan
- Taytay: Sta. Ana
- Rodriguez (Montalban): Burgos, San Jose
- Marikina City: Industrial Valley Complex, Concepcion Uno, Parang
- Quezon City: Bagong Pag-asa, Matandang Balara, Holy Spirit, San Roque, Damayang Lagi
- San Juan City: Corazon de Jesus
- Pasig City: San Joaquin
According to Jeric Sevilla, Manila Water’s Communication Affairs Group Director, proactive septic tank cleaning is critical. “Changing seasonal conditions can strain our sanitation systems, so regular septic tank cleaning is essential. Taking advantage of the scheduled desludging service helps ensure our homes remain safe and supports the wider effort to keep our environment resilient,” Sevilla stated.
The initiative, part of the company’s ongoing environmental and sanitation program, aims to mitigate health risks, foul odors, and wastewater overflows associated with full septic tanks during hotter weather. The service is provided at no additional cost to customers.
Affected residents are advised to coordinate with their barangay offices or check Manila Water’s official channels to confirm their schedule. Customers must ensure their septic tank is easily locatable and that its covers are accessible and removable prior to the team’s arrival.
