The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has fortified its commitment to women entrepreneurs by designating a dedicated ₱2-billion credit facility for 2026, aiming to drive economic inclusion and growth. The significant allocation from the Small Business Corporation (SBCorp) fund will empower women-led micro, small, and medium enterprises (WMSMEs) through the Women’s Enterprise Fund (WEF).
Trade Secretary Fred Pascual emphasized the fund’s dual role in fostering business expansion and enhancing household financial security. “We continue to support women entrepreneurs seeking local and global expansion, while also opening opportunities for those ready to expand, create jobs, and strengthen local economies,” Secretary Pascual stated. He added that the DTI, through SBCorp, has tailored programs to address the capital challenges faced by MSMEs.
The WEF offers substantial financial support with borrower-friendly terms. Eligible enterprises can access loans ranging from ₱30,000 to ₱20 million. Key features include a one-year grace period on principal and interest for eligible products, flexible repayment terms extending up to five years, and a waiver of collateral requirements for loans up to ₱5 million.
To streamline access, SBCorp has digitalized the application process. Entrepreneurs can apply online via the SBCorp Money App, available on Google Play and Huawei AppGallery, or through the web portal at app.sbcorp.ph.
For those requiring in-person assistance, guidance is available at any of the 1,431 Negosyo Centers nationwide. These centers provide information on business opportunities and facilitate access to DTI programs. Additional details can also be obtained by calling the DTI hotline at 1-384.
The initiative underscores the government’s strategy to leverage women’s entrepreneurship as a catalyst for job creation, local economic development, and broader national prosperity.#
