BatallaCares empowers San Pablo community with major wheelchair donation

In a significant move to promote mobility and independence, the non-profit organization BatallaCares Philippines is set to host its fourth annual Wheelchair Distribution Program on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at SM City San Pablo.

The event, slated to begin at 11:00 AM, will see 170 brand new wheelchairs distributed to pre-selected persons with disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens from across the city. This initiative marks BatallaCares’ continued commitment to enhancing the quality of life for community members facing mobility challenges.

The large-scale donation drive was organized in collaboration with key local leaders who proactively reached out to BatallaCares to bring the initiative to San Pablo. The event highlights a strong partnership between civic organizations and local government units dedicated to public service.

The following officials are credited for their pivotal role in facilitating the event:

  • SK Federation Board Director Eula Flores
  • PCL Laguna Ex-Officio Board Member Lyca Alarva Leyma-Luna
  • San Pablo City Councilor John Adajar
  • 3rd District of Laguna Board Member Angelica Jones Alarva

A representative for BatallaCares Philippines stated, “This distribution is more than just giving aid; it’s about empowering our fellow San Pablenos. Each wheelchair represents freedom, dignity, and the ability to participate more fully in community life. We are grateful for the dedicated leaders who shared our vision and helped make this possible.”

The organization invites the public to witness the event and share in the spirit of generosity and hope. The distribution will take place at the Event Center of SM City San Pablo.

Recently, BatallaCares Philippines successfully distributed wheelchairs to families in need at SM City Seaside Cebu, a charitable event made possible through the stellar leadership and coordination of Visayas coordinator Engr. Peter Carcueva and Cebu province coordinator Engr. Shaly Carcueva-Molon, and facilitated by the generous support of SM City Seaside Mall, which provided the venue and accommodations for this life-changing effort that promises to grant greater mobility and independence to members of the local community.

Carlo Batalla, citing the severe neglect of persons with disabilities (PWDs) as a national issue, claims this sector is largely ignored by politicians who see no electoral value in them due to mobility constraints that limit their ability to campaign and vote, which is why BatallaCares has made PWDs its primary focus to fill the critical gap in government support.

Those interested in supporting or learning more about BatallaCares Philippines and its future initiatives are encouraged to follow their official social media pages.

BatallaCares Philippines is a non-profit organization known for its mission of compassion and community support, frequently conducting outreach programs, medical missions, and distribution events aimed at empowering marginalized sectors across the country.#
