Cathy Cruz

Maria Catherine E. Cruz-Suba is a seasoned Filipino media practitioner, civic leader, and public servant whose dynamic career spans over three decades across government, private sector, and journalism. A graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, she has since built a reputation as a committed broadcaster, journalist, and advocate for national development.

Her media journey began in the early 2000s and continues to flourish through her work in radio, television, print, and online platforms. She is best known as the long-time host of the program “Tuklasin Natin”, which has aired on multiple AM radio stations including DZXL 558 kHz, DWSS 1494, and DWAD 1098, and currently streams via Katipunan Channel on Facebook and YouTube. She also holds the position of Station Manager of Katipunan Channel and is the publisher of Tuklasin Natin online magazine.

Beyond media, Cruz-Suba has held key roles in various organizations and civic movements. She serves as Secretary General of Katipunan ng Demokratikong Pilipino (KDP) and is the Head of Secretariat of the Save the Nation Movement. Her affiliations extend to the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Makati Golden Lions Club, and press organizations such as the National Press Club (NPC), KBP, Philippine Science Journalists, and Philippine Agriculture Journalists.

Her public service includes significant stints at the Quezon City Government and the Department of Agrarian Reform, where she served in legal and administrative capacities for nearly two decades. In the private sector, she was a Media Coordinator for Monsanto Philippines and GH Nutripharma, and a Certified Speaker and Manager at Edmark Philippines.

Accredited by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) and licensed by the Civil Service Commission, Cruz-Suba combines her technical competence with a passion for advocacy, community organizing, and public information. She is a skilled communicator, scriptwriter, news writer, public speaker, and video editor, and is deeply engaged in community and media work.

Born on August 5, 1970, in Manila, she remains a steadfast voice for the Filipino people through her continuous involvement in broadcasting and civic action.#
