Two thirds of voters in Abra favor Bersamin over Bernos as Governor

Bangued, Abra, Philippines — 68% of voters in Abra favors Eustaquio ‘Takit’ Bersamin as Provincial
Governor in the upcoming 2025 Elections over Joaquin Bernos, who received 25% voter preference. 7%
of voters were undecided during the time of the interviews. The voter preference for the former Governor
were driven by larger municipalities such as Bangued, Bucay, Tayum, and La Paz.

Citing experience and a proven track record, Takit Bersamin received high voter preference across all age
groups including younger voters. Younger voters cited high positive recommendation from parents or older
relatives as their primary influencer.

Takit Bersamin enjoys a high awareness rate of 99% and a 92% positive approval rating compared to
Joaquin Bernos with an 85% awareness rate and a 65% positive approval rating.

Vice Governor Preference
Anna Marie Bersamin is the Vice Governor of choice with a 59% voter preference compared to Maria
Jocelyn Bernos with a 32% voter preference. 9% of voters are undecided during the time of the the
interviews. Similarly, voter preference for Anna Marie Bersamin were driven by the larger municipalities in
Abra.

The survey, conducted last January 13-15, 2024, was administered using Face to Face interviews with
Tangere’s Computer Assisted Personnel Interviewing (CAPI) program, and using Random Sampling in the
Province of Abra. A total of of 800 respondents were interviewed, 25% came from the Municipality of
Bangued, Abra’s Capital and the municipality with the largest population.
