Lokal na riding-type na transplanter para mapahusay ang pagsasaka ng palay

Ang lokal na ginawang riding-type transplanter ay maaaring magtanim ng mga punla ng palay hanggang dalawang ektarya bawat araw na may average na nawawalang burol na 9.3% lamang. Kung ikukumpara sa manu-manong paglipat, ang makina ay nagpapatakbo ng 80% na mas mabilis at mas mahusay.

Ang makinang ito ay nakakatulong na mabawasan ang nakakapagod na karaniwang nararanasan sa manu-manong trabaho. Nakakatulong ito upang matugunan ang kakulangan sa paggawa sa panahon ng pagtatanim, na nangangailangan lamang ng isang tao upang patakbuhin ito. Ito ay 30% mas mura at makakatipid sa pagkonsumo ng gasolina ng 1–2 litro kumpara sa mga imported na transplanter.

Ito ang mga promising features ng inisyal na prototype na binuo ng Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) sa pamamagitan ng suporta sa pagpopondo ng Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development ng Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD).

Ayon kay Project Leader Arnold S. Juliano ng PhilRice, mas mapapabuti pa ang prototype na sinubok sa field. Samakatuwid, ang kanyang koponan ay lumikha ng isang mas angkop, mas simple, mas magaan, at cost-effective na disenyo, na may higit na potensyal para sa mas mataas na kadaliang kumilos at kapasidad ng pagtatanim. Iniulat ni Juliano ang mga pag-unlad na ito sa panahon ng Field Monitoring and Evaluation Visit at Project Review meeting na inorganisa ng DOST-PCAARRD’s Agricultural Resources Management Research Division (ARRMD).

Ang pilot testing ng pinahusay na prototype ay isinasagawa. Ang data sa performance, theoretical field capacity, aktwal na field capacity, field efficiency, seedlings per hill, spacing between hills, planting orientation, missed and damaged hills, pati na rin ang fuel consumption, ay kasalukuyang kinokolekta bilang pagsunod sa Philippine National Standards/ Philippine Mga Pamantayan sa Pag-iinhinyero ng Agrikultura (PNS/PAES 152:2015).

Ang proyekto ay matatapos sa 2025. Ito ay nag-iisip na lumikha ng isang magaan at abot-kayang transplanter sa Pilipinas, na magpapataas ng kita ng mga magsasaka sa pamamagitan ng pagpapababa ng mga gastos sa paglipat at pag-optimize ng density ng halaman sa mga bukid. Higit pa rito, ang paggamit ng mga lokal na materyales at skilled labor sa paggawa ng mga lokal na riding-type transplanter ay umaasa na makalikha ng mga oportunidad sa trabaho at pasiglahin ang paglago ng ekonomiya sa rehiyon.#
