NHA naggawad ng 100 pabahay sa Tribong Subanen ng Zamboanga Del Sur

Upang mapabuti ang buhay ng tribong Subanen, iginawad ng National Housing Authority (NHA) ang bagong 100 na pabahay para sa katutubong pamilya na ginanap sa Lison Valley Tribal Village, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, kamakailan lang.

Sa ilalim ng liderato ni NHA General Manager Joeben A. Tai at ng Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Pagadian, natatangi ang Lison Valley Tribal Village project dahil ang bawat bahay ay may komportableng espasyo na binubuo ng 20-square-meter floor area at 80-square-meter lot, kabilang ang indibidwal na septic tank.

Layon ng ahensya na mapanatili pa rin ang paniniwala, kultura at tradisyon ng tribo sa kanilang mga bagong tahanan, kaya matatagpuan ang proyektong pabahay sa loob ng ancestral domain nito.

Ang inisyatiba na ito ay bahagi ng Housing Assistance Program for Indigenous Peoples (HAPIP) ng ahensya. Sa pamamagitan ng HAPIP, nakikipag koordinasyon ang NHA sa National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) at mga lokal na pamahalaan para matulungan ang mga katutubong komunidad. Ang programang ito ay umaayon sa Republic Act 8731, o ang Indigenous Peoples Rights Act of 1997, na sinisiguro ang mga karapatan ng mga katutubong Pilipino.

Bilang patunay na prayoridad ng NHA mabigyan ng dekalidad na pamumuhay ang mga indigenous people, naggawad ang NHA Region XI ng 75 na pabahay para sa tribong Dibabawon ng Davao del Norte noong Mayo 2024. Habang 51 pamilya ng Mandaya Tribe ang nakatanggap naman ng pabahay sa Davao Oriental noong Marso 2024.#
