NHA magkaloob ng pabahay sa Mandaya IPs

Ipinagkaloob kamakailan lang ng National Housing Authority (NHA) ang housing units para sa limampu’t isang (51) pamilya mula sa katutubong pangkat o Indigenous Peoples (IPs) ng Mandaya sa isang turnover ceremony na ginanap sa Brgy. Pintatagan, Banaybanay, Davao Oriental.

Bilang kinatawan ni NHA General Manager Joeben Tai, pinangunahan ni NHA Region XI Manager Engr. Clemente A. Dayot, kasama si Banaybanay Mayor Lemuel Ian M. Larcia, ang paggawad ng mga pabahay sa Balai Nang Mandaya. Ang naturang proyekto ay ipinatutupad ng NHA sa ilalim ng Housing Assistance Program for Indigenous Peoples (HAPIP), at alinsunod sa Republic Act No. 8731 o ang Indigenous Peoples Right Act of 1997. Sa pakikipagtulungan ng National Commission for Indigenous Peoples at mga lokal na pamahalaan, ipinatutupad ng NHA ang HAPIP sa lupaing pagmamay-ari ng mga IP o mga nasasakupan ng lokal na pamahalaan na aprobado ng mga katutubong pangkat.

Dumalo rin sa nasabing okasyon sina Banaybanay Vice Mayor Liezel S. Teves, 1st District Congressman Nelson “Boy” Dayanghirang, NHA District Manager Engr. Sonia J. Bulseco, Mandaya Tribal Chieftain Leonilo Pacay, Sr., at Brgy. Pintatagan IP Representative Alfonso Bungarotan.

Sa isang kaugnay na kuwento, nagsagawa rin ang NHA Region XI ng isang tree planting activity noong Marso 25, 2024 sa Balai Kalipay, Brgy. Luban, Mati City, Davao Oriental, isang proyektong pabahay para sa IP. Ang mga naturang benepisyaryo, kasama ang mga kawani ng NHA, ay nagtanim ng mga buto ng mangosteen at rambutan mula sa Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office (DA-RFO) XI.

Ang naturang aktibidad ay bahagi ng Livelihood and Affordability Enhancement Program (LAEP) ng NHA na naglalayong tiyakin ang sapat na kabuhayan para sa mga benepisyaryo sa bawat proyektong pabahay ng ahensya. Higit pa rito, nakatanggap rin ang mga benepisyaryo ng mga buto ng iba’t ibang uri ng gulay.#
