DOST-Cavite Conducts Project Visit and Monitoring at Ma-Ma’s Hope Haven, a Successful CBP Beneficiary

The Department of Science and Technology in Cavite (DOST-Cavite) visited Ma-Ma’s Hope Haven of Norway, Inc. (MMHHNI) in General Trias City, Cavite, to assess the progress of the CBP-assisted project.

Led by Ms. Anna Marie S. Daigan, and assisted by Mr. Reniel Jan L. Alvarado and Engr. Maiden Kieth Rodriguez, the DOST-Cavite team had a warm welcome from Ms. Daisylyn Driz, MMHHNI’s Project Head. The visit focused on the evaluation of the status of the MMHHNI’s new solar power generating system in the PortaSHIP, an Aquatecture System for tilapia production. This solar power generating system was provided by DOST under its Grants-in-Aid – Community-Based Project (GIA-CBP) and has been running successfully for almost two months. The said solar power system not only provides a clean and reliable source of power but also reduces greenhouse gas emissions and contributes to sustainable environments.

The collaboration between DOST CAVITE and MMHHNI showcased the value of their combined efforts, which both learn more about one another and hear from varied perspectives. As a result, Ms. Daisylyn Driz expressed her appreciation to DOST. To quote “We’re really grateful for DOST-Cavite’s support. The solar power setup has not only boosted our energy efficiency but has also played a key role in the success of our PortaSHIP Aquatecture System, benefiting the community we served.”

The partnership between MMHHNI and DOST-Cavite is a great example of how collaboration and simple innovations can make a big difference in our communities. As they continue working together, this partnership is the best example of positive change for sustainable economic development.#
