National Housing Authority (NHA) General Manager Joeben Tai led the groundbreaking ceremony of Iloilo City People’s Residences at Brgy. Tabuc Suba, Jaro, Iloilo City on October 15, 2022.
The Iloilo City People’s Residences is a housing project intended for the informal settler families (ISFs) affected by the government infrastructure projects of the city.

The project will produce five low-rise buildings with 300 housing units. Each unit has a floor area of 24 square meters and a livable space of two bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and a garage. Other community facilities of this project include a security guard house, a standard Pylon/Project Marker, a Passenger loading and unloading area, and Material recovery facilities
GM Tai assured that he would continuously collaborate with other government agencies and local government units to build more housing for the Filipino people.
In his message, GM Tai said, “We will see to it that we at NHA will not just build houses but sustainable communities. Our housing projects are backed by livelihood and community development programs to prepare these families for their new homes and new life.”
He added, “I commit to you that NHA, under my leadership, would continuously collaborate and partner with the local governments, private sector, civil society, and other government agencies to finally address the country’s housing requirement.
GM Tai also appealed to the House of Representatives and Senate leaders to support the NHA’s charter renewal and for an increased budget to realize our housing programs.
“Only with your help and support can we achieve our target of building 1.3 million houses for our Filipino families,” he said.
